I have a dual-band modem/router — Cisco DPC3939 (DOCSIS 3.0 16x4).
I have a new device that also operates at 5.8 GHz. The modem/router interfers with this other device (I've turne off the modem/router and the interference stops.) Is it possible to disable the 5 GHz side and just use the 2.4 GHz side? I would have no problem with that since we have no 2.4 GHz devices in the house.
Thanks for any help.
You certainly can on my gateway, (different model), log in to 10.0.0.1 default login is admin/password
You might find changing the channels from auto to manual may help, you can select channels from 36 to 161.
I have a Cisco model. As Paranoid said, log into your gateway.
Then click "Connection" then "Wi-Fi"
You'll see your two wi-fi frequencies, 2.4 and 5 Ghz.
Select the one you want to turn off, click the EDIT box, and you'll see "Enable" and "Disable" buttons. That's it!
