Arris SBG7400AC2 gateway-not getting correct speed for WiFi

I just purchased my own router/modem combo, the arris SBG7400AC2. When hardwired directly to the modem I am getting the correct speed. I am paying for 250mbps. When I use the Wifi I only get 50-70mbps. Before changing my plan to 250mbps I was on the tier of 150mbps and was renting the router/modem combo from xfinity and never had an issue. Now all of a sudden I'm tyring to save money with purchasing my own and it's not working. My new combo has 24x8 modem channels and is DOCSIS 3.0 which I should be sufficient. Can someone please tell me I'm not going crazy?

So am I..... Smiley Sad Perhaps it needs a hard reset to factory defaults, or a firmware update, or perhaps it is malfunctioning / defective ?

I have switched out three different routers/modems thinking maybe they were defective but two of them were brand spanking new! I'm going crazy with this. I will try to factory reset the device and see if there are any firmware updates next and see if that does it but I doubt it since this issue has been continuous witht the other devices. Thank you

Docc4sho, sorry to hear about the wireless speed issues! Did you get a chance to factory reset the device? Let me know if you're still having these issues, I'd be happy to troubleshoot with you further.
