Hello Forum Users,
I did quite a bit of research on which modem to buy to replace my current modem. Now I am not sure which one to chose between Arris SB6183 or Arris SB6190.
SB6190 might be better for future-profing (higher speeds and 32/8 channels) but have heard aroub latency problems. I would like to get your recommendation on whcih one should I invest in.
Also I have been reading about DOCSIS 3.1. Is it worth investing at this time for my connection speed. Internet is used for a lot of streaming, but no gaming.
Service Provider: Xfinity

You dont need a DOCSIS 3.1 modem for a 100mbps connection so between the SB6183 and SB6190, I would go with the SB6183.
Don't get a 6190 !! It has the Puma 6 chipset glitch. See this;
Reason to not get them.
A 6183 is adequate for 100 Mbps.
FWIW, personally, I would not invest in a DOCSIS 3 modem at this point with the new DOCSIS 3.1 spec right around the corner and already upgraded in some areas. I would get a DOCSIS 3.1 capable modem like these;
The 3.1 modems remain backwards compatible with yet to be upgraded 3.0 systems.
EG, Thanks for the detailed response. Some of those issues you have posted is what I have been reading about and was not sure how big of an issue were those. I guess I will go with SB6183 for now and down the line when there is a need for 3.1, I will invest money on it.
