xFi app doesn't pause WiFi anymore

When I try and pause my children's internet it doesn't pause them anymore. It used to work great and now it doesn't. Please help!

Hi,

I am having the same issues with not being able to control the wi-fi when it comes to my children and any other devices in my house. Both the mobile XFI app and on the website both show devices paused but in fact they are not and the internet is still in use on the "paused" devices. Is there a resolution to this problem which alot of people are having?

I have the same problem ever since hurricane Irma. App says devices are paused but they still have internet

Hi bgonsalves35, can you confirm that the devices are remaining connected to your home network while in use? Pause funtionality will not work when a device jumps to the xfinitywifi Hot Spot, cellular data, or any other open WiFi network. 

 

If they are connecting through your home network, please send me a private message with details on some of the devices that are not pausing (device type, MAC address, etc). This information can be grabbed from xFi - Devices - [select device] - Device Details.

Yes I can com firm that my devices are connected to modem but nothing will pause. Same issue every one is having

I have the same issue as well. I've even tried putting the devices in "bed time" mode and they still connect. This is causing my internet usage to sky rocket over night because one will start streaming YouTube videos or Netflix and fall asleep. I keep getting overage charges because this supposed pause is suppose to stop these devices from accessing the internet.

I am having the same issue. The xfi app and the website don’t pause any device connected to my xfinity gateway. It used to work great but does nothing now. I had to go back to setting device connection schedules on the router itself.

The comcast reps and techs are mad stupid!!!!

 

Here is how to make it work.

 

1. Log into your router 10.0.01

2. Drop down the parental control menu

3. Manage Device

4. Enable

Thosands of threads with the same issue ---- this is NOT an individual issue  that needs to be looked at privately........but if it is, how about following up (COMCAST!!) and posting SOLUTIONS or at least an idea what the issue is?

 

I have confiremd the devices are on my home network and not cell.....I have restarted my router.....the screen on XFI shows that I have paused the devices at the confirmed mac addresses.

 

All these dead end threads for the same exact issue....you shouldnt need to have all of my MAC addresses etc to figure out that this is a wide spread issue. Just look at your own forum....and comcast you also have ads saying "pleae answer publicly so others can benefit"...yet you never post the SOLUTION!

 

Google says 111,000 results for "comcast xfi pause not working"

 

Will I get a bill adjustment for this not working since it is something I am payin gfor as part of the service and that it is advertised as an expected feature?

Maybe.....seems off that I would have to basically start all over and risk further issues.

 

As it is I can see the devices at least.....from what I have seen in other threads, some folks have tried this and had no success or gotten worse.....

 

Someone said that "if you have used XFI app this wont work" as it shuts you out of the advanced user mode of the router......
