port forwarding

I have never been able to port forward with the Xfi app and had no problrmes before switching to it. Is there a way to disable te Xfi app and go back to having driect access to the router from a web brower?

Re: port forwarding

Why yes I did, and it was of no help. Which is why I asked if I can go back to managing my router through a web browser like before this Xfi came along.

Hoping for a response as well, xfi bites web panel way better

Re: port forwarding

Actually, Xfi shouldn't replace the portal you had in place prior. It just is there to use on the side as many prefer it to the otherwise clunky UIs provided by the modems. Simply find the default gateway to your modem and connect like you usually would.

I'm surprised that of all things port forwarding has been the issue, I've found it to be a million times simpler via xFi than elsewhere. Are you trying to do this via a desktop or phone?

Re: port forwarding

I have tried on  a desktop, a phone and a tablet.  I can log onto the router portal but when I go to the port forward section it does not show anythnig but a message saying to go to my xfi page to use port forwarding.

Re: port forwarding

I had this issue.  Apparently you can't set up a port forward to a static address.  You need to have a DHCP assigned address and then it will let the forward happen.  I let my destination machine get a DHCP assigned address and then set it as reserved address within the DHCP scope and all is well.  Not the way I prefer to do things, but it is the only option with this router.

That's absurd, port forwarding to a static address is how everyone does it.
