Xfi App "pause" is not working

Xfi App "pause" is not working

I've paused my son's gaming system countless amount of times, checked the IP address to this gaming console and computer many times and he's still able to use the internet. I've also had 2 different ticket created assumed fixed they say in regards to this situation. Is anyone dealing with this too or am I the only one?

Same here.....assumed it was working all this time and just realized it doesnt.

 

Tried my own laptop and cell as well.....doesnt work.

 

Restarted router, same.

 

Did you ever hear from comcast?

Myang42, are you still experiencing issues with the pause feature in xFi? If so, please send me a Private Message with the MAC Address for the xBox you're are trying to pause and I can look into it.

shadango, if you are still experiencing issues with pause in xFi, please send me a Private Message with the MAC Address for a device you are trying to pause and I can help look into it.

Yes, still having issues. Devices show as paused but are not. Will pm a device mac as instructed.

I'm having this same issue.  I have restarted the modem a few times.  I can't pause any device on the network.

georges528, please try pause again and if you are still experiencing issues with the feature in xFi, send me a Private Message verifying your service address & ZIP. If you can also provide a MAC Address for one of the devices you recently tried pausing, that will be helpful as well. Thanks.

How about someone from comcast post an answer. That is what forums are for. Every related forum on this topic end in comcast asking someone to PM them.

 

So what is the solution??

Also having the same problem after the new update can’t seem to get the pausing feature to work

Hi Folks,

 

I have this problem too. I am trying to shut down my son's access to his devices and this feature looks like it works but actually does not!  I was on the phone with Xfinity just now about this and all they did was a refresh to the modem. I have selected turn off until I say so feature and the devices that I had paused come back on on their own the next day or hours later. I have paused devices walked into my son's room and he is still gaming. So this feature is fake! So now i have to resort to hiding the modem? I should be able to turn it off the modem in the app..  I thought there was also a way to get into the server (10.0.0.01 or something like that) when I try and login with my  profile info it doesn't work..

 

any help would be great..

Hi Dreamoutloud65, it's important to note that pausing a device may not always immediately stop activities that are in progress. I'd also add that pausing will only block access to the internet, so if your child is playing games that do not require an internet connection, then it would not stop those activities. 

When you pause the device, does it appear in xFi as Paused? 

Can you confirm that the games being played while his console is paused, do require an internet connection? 

If they do require an internet connection, please send me a private message with the following:

- Device name in xFi

- Date and Time when the device was paused
