To replace your current modem you would have to go into a local Comcast service center and ask for a modem that is compatible with our Xfi app. they will know exactly what you're wanting, I apologize if phone support was not as helpful. We can send equipment out as well but there is no guarantee that the warehouse will give you the modem you need. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

I have always own my own modem for Internet and my own router but have to lease a modem for the telephone.
Now that Comcast has a great product for all 3 I'm trying to upgrade..
When a call Comast they want to me to upgrade to the XB3.
If I UPGRADE I want the new the gateway.
You can always get the new gateway even if they upgrade you to the XB3 first. Go ahead and upgrade the account and your modem to the XB3, once you get that you can take it into the store and swap it for our XB6 which is our newest modem. You shouldn't need the XB6 for Xfi this modem is commonly used when you have Gigabit services. In any case you can get the latest and greatest equipment by going into a local Comcast store no matter when you upgrade.
Why would I want to to downgrade XB3.
I want to the Comcast store and could even order one.

Hey Amir or Comcast employee a family member of mine wants to get The XB6 like We have can he just go to a service center near us or does a tech need to be dispatched with gigabit upgrade? He was asking me and wanted to give him a direct answer? Thanks and happy new year
