I followed Nerdburg.  Access your comcast router, then edit the names of your 2.4, and 5.0 gig  wireless  entities.   You probably have them both the same name.  I changed my 5.0 to another  name and it worked in  10secs. Was getting can error on Gosund plug that it only works on 2.4  .

There were several legacy products in my home that did not conenct to the smart router in the new XfintyFi router and required a forced connection to a 2.4 GHz WiFi band.  Even though I elected to use the same password for both, I needed to name two SSID: for 2.4GHz and  5.0GHz.  These products included a Honeywell Lyric Thermostat, Smart Plugs and Internet Radio.   I then needed to reconnect anything that had previously been connected to a different single SSID.  Everything now works but new users and connections must be specifically signed into one or the other frequency.
