Fan turned on Modem, red light, internet not working

I have the newer xFi modem, with X1

All has worked well for a couple months.

Today, the fan came on inside the modem, Odd, never happened before, not like extensive use or anything going on, just mild surfing.

A red light came on on the top, and internet quit, phone still worked, but no internet.

I unplugged 5 minutes, plugged in, 5 minutes later, and all works as normal now.

What's the deal?  Will this happen again?  Do I need to exchange the router?

thanks

Usually, when I see the red light on top of my XB6 gateway, it means it has rebooted and it takes a few minutes for the red light to change to white, which means the Internet connection has been restored.

Thanks.  Seems odd it would reboot in the middle of the day.  Be nice if it would do that in the middle of the night, like the X1 box.  Guess that's asking too much Smiley Sad

My gateway only reboots if there is an outage in the area or Comcast is working on upgrades to their infrastructure.
