DHCP Server Start and End Range to Limit Number of Connections

Has anyone tried to use the DHCP Server Start and End Range to Limit the number of connections under Advanced Settings to limit the number of connections?

I set my range at 10.0.0.2 - 10.0.0.2 as an experiment. Not sure if it is doing anything yet. I may be way off track on how this is supposed to work.

I just did the same thing tonight, limiting the range to only one option...

how is it working out for you?

It didn't help that I can tell. I need to do a thorough test on it. I was kind of hoping it would turn off 3 of the ethernet ports but I don't think it did.

Well it turns out a limited IP range did do something. There was a conflict between two devices (a gaming computer couldn't connect because a smart TV had the same IP address). The TV won. But this does not appear to be a viable solution.
