Please tell me why I can't add a device to Xfinity account

What exactly are you trying to connect to?  If I want to connect my iphone to my xfinitywifi SSID, I just select it in the phone's settings just like I do for any other SSID.

We are trying to add a tablet to the device portal so it can get hot spot, the device is at work and not registered on home network

If you are trying to connect to an Xfinity hotspot at work, you have to be close enough to connect.

There is an app that shows hotspots closest to you.
