Advanced wifi settings are locked (channel, wifi mode, etc)
I am trying to help my friend with her Xfinity service. She recently was given an ARRIS TG1682G
I believe changing the wifi channels/channel width may solve issues she's having, but the router seems to be mostly locked down which is incredibly irritating.
In the 10.0.0.1 interface, the options are greyed out and can't be clicked. (Can't change from auto to manual or anything). In the xFi web interface, under "advanced settings" it displays a message about not seeing all settings - when you click it, it displays the message at the bottom of this post. Is it possible to re-enable the control of the wifi settings so that I can help troubleshoot please? I saw a couple comcast forum posts where an engineer who posted was able to unlock someone's access. HELP!
If you don't see the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi settings (WiFi Mode, Channel Selection, and Channel Mode) in Advanced Settings, this means these settings are now being managed automatically to help optimize your home network and provide the best performance possible.
