new Xfinity acct

I changed my acct about 2 months ago and planned utilizing a landline phone first...since then a lot happened which prevented me to even hook up landline and also changed my mind and would rather do mobile. I went to store to get a phone where I found out Credit /Debit card is needed...which really is bad cuz I pay cash only unless it is required grudgingly....so how can we change the fact I want the mobile I DON"T want the card business???
