using android phone as personal hotspot

I am an xfinity mobile customer on the unlimited plan. I purchased an LG charge X and put the sim in my galaxy s7 that i had from when i was with verizon. i know byod android is still not officially supported but was hoping somebody came across this and knew how to fix it.

so far everything has worked except two things:

1- when i try to turn on mobile hotspot on my phone a popup comes up saying "checking subscription status" which is what would come up when i was on verizon. that popup then disappears and a new popup saying "unable to connect, mobile number not found" shows up. it's almost like it's checking verizon. i'm assuming this works on xfinity mobile android phones?

2- when i'm on a phone call, i can no longer use mobile data (e.g. use browser, send/receive txts...). is this also because i'm using my verizon phone or is this standard for xfniity mobile?

appreciate the help.

Re: using android phone as personal hotspot

1. you are correct, that would work on XFINITY Mobile android devices.

2. You are referring to VoLTE. This is also only supported on XFINITY Mobile android phones.
