Paid off, fulfilled all criteria, ~5mo service, account good standing, went through ticket and e-mail process, given unlock code, incorrect.
Called, phone CS after long long holds say they don't have access to unlock code, or you have to go to store, etc. similar excuses. Chat support gives same incorrect unlock code and says I have to get any other by phone.
Googled this and it seems to be a very common issue. Many people complain of long delays in getting unlock codes, which ultimately do not work.
This appears to be intentional on behalf of XM in order to delay/block customers from changing carriers.

When unlocking Android you need to ask for both the unlock code and unfreezing code. Try the unfreezing code first.

An unfreeze code should have been emailed to you with the unlock. Sometimes the unfreeze and unlock codes are the same, so it definitely helps to double check what was sent to you.
