You don't really have to do anything other than enable data roaming, but you'll be charged international rates. You could get your phone unlocked and then get a local sim card when there which might be cheaper.

You should also enable WiFi calling on your device as it now seems to be working. You can call back to the US when your phone is connected to WiFi without incurring any charges.

Another option is to purchase a local SIM and service. I do that when I travel to Europe. I get phone calls, texts, and data on the European network, call back to the U.S. using WiFi calling.

Re: TRAVEL OUT OF COUNTRY

I'm in Rome, Italy, and the International Roaming support isn't helpful. We've done everything they suggested - restart, power off and remove SIM card, reset network settings - but still no mobile data. We activated international roaming and restarted our ohobes before we left the US. We make sure mobile data is turned on in the settings. But, we keep getting a circle with a line through it instead of bars. Is there anything else to try?

Same here from Germany - no data after following all instructions. Very disappointed in Xfinity mobile.

Re: TRAVEL OUT OF COUNTRY

Wc12, thanks for posting. Did you enable international roaming on your device as well as your account?

Re: TRAVEL OUT OF COUNTRY

Data roaming has been enabled on my account for three phones and data is not working in Canada. Xfinity says they have no idea why.

Re: TRAVEL OUT OF COUNTRY

After two days of trying all kinds of roaming buttons in UK, reached out to support again only to find that nternational roaming was only enabled to canada and mexico. Insist the support to enable roaming to every other country,  then data roaming worked instantly once toggling the cellular button.

Do I have to have int' data roaming enabled by you or just on each phone?

Re: TRAVEL OUT OF COUNTRY

The data rates for Xfinity Mobile in Austarlia show as $100 per Gb while roaming.  That is much higher than the local pricing on a prepaid line or data sim.  Are you sure you want to pay that much for data?

Re: TRAVEL OUT OF COUNTRY

For In'l raoming data, it must be turned on in both phone and at Xfinity. The phone number to call is Xfinity is on this page:

Re: TRAVEL OUT OF COUNTRY

Same here. I am in the UK with no cellular data. International roaming was set up before I left the US. Since being here I have called the helpline and they are of no help. How many times should I turn the phone on and off and reset the network settings? That’s Xfinity mobiles only suggestion and it does not work. Very frustrating.

Re: TRAVEL OUT OF COUNTRY

I have just spent another wasted 45 minutes txting and talking to”Xfinity about this. There is zero help. Despite calling the the number that Xfinity messaged me upon arrival in the UK if I had any problems, it repeatedly connects me to domestic assistance who then tell me to call international roaming on the number I am calling them on. When I finally speak with someone there is no assistance whatsoever. Nobody knows anything. Considering this is a Comcast “service“ on a phone bought from Comcast it is clear that you should not trust Comcast if you need data whilst roaming overseas.

Hello Stevegould3,

Thank you for taking the time to post in the Xfinity Forum.  We greatly appreciate your continued time, patience, and support.  Know that I am here to help.  WKG is correct, the international service needs to be enabled on both ends, on your device, and in the features on your account.

When you get the opportunity send me s private message.  You can do so by clicking on my name ComcastChrisL, which will direct you to my profile page.  From there you will see a blue ‘send message’ button.

In your private message, please include your first and last name, the full service address, the mobile number, and the last 4 digits of the stored payment method on file.  Upon authenticating the account,  I’ll do the needed research.

Thanks again for brining this to our attention.  Hope to hear from you soon!
