Looks like the answer is NO.
I took the chance since xfinity mobile is rebranded Verizon and Samsung says the Unlocked Note 20 ultra would work with Verizon. My phone showed up today and put the IMEI into the checker and was told the phone was not compatible.
I see a thread where it took time the samsung unlocked S20's to be usuable, hopefully this will eventually be the case with this phone. Otherwise I will just activate it with ATT and forget about using xfinity mobile.
I tried to get some information to see if this would work from an Xfinity phone rep before my phone came in , and was told he couldn't help me if I didn't have an IMEI for him to check..worthless.
Yes, it worked for me, even though the IMEI check says device is incompatible still it worked. Initially the Voicemail notification did not work and later upgrading to the latest software the voicemail started working. But the device on account still shows as my old device.
Unlocked Note20 5G and Ultra 5G with the Samsung experience will work on Xfinity Mobile beginning 8/21. The compatibility checker should show as compatible begiining on that day. Note20s purchased through other carriers like Verizon or T-Mo will not be compatible for a few months.
yes, as long as it wasn't purchased from another carrier. If it purchased from another carrier it won't be supported on Xfinity for few months.
I ordered mine from Samsung too, they also said it will work. I brought it to the store and they said that they couldn't get it working and to call support. I did that and support said that the device isn't compatible. After freaking out for a while I poped my old sim into the phone and it worked fine. It still shows my old phone being registered to my account, but I'm hoping I can get this one working correctly soon. I have to trade in my old phone for credit towards this one.
How long has it been since you swapped the SIM card and is everything still working?
I have heard stories of everything working for 3-4 days, then mobile data being shut out.
Sorry for looking at you as a guinea pig, but I am going to wait on switching mine over until I hear success is sustatined for several days.
@ComcastChrisL Can you please help us here?. An unlocked Note 20 Ultra that we bought from Samsung. is it compatible with Xfinity?
Agree wih you totally. i experience the same... unlocked Note 20 ULTRA from Samsung.com worked for me...
any advice, my samsung purchased unlocked Ultra still shows up as not compatible
For those who are saying they popped a sim in and it worked, where did you get the sim?
I tried to get Xfinity to send me one before my Note 20 ultra arrived and they refused. They said they had to run the IMEI through the checker before they would send me a sim.. and as others have stated the samsung unlocked note 20 ultra's fail xfinity IMEI checker.
I bought this phone expressly to start transfering my service away from ATT and over to Xfinity. I bought this since the IMEIE checker for my ATT branded Note 10 failed the checker and I wrongly assumed the New 20 would pass.
afyer sijm switch, mine has been up and working for about a week now. Visual voicemail is not functional yet, but all other fdeatures seem to be fine.
did they changed the IMEI of the phone in your xfinity account ?
My Mobile data is not working, Calls and Voice mail seems working donno why its happening with this Xfinity
This is how things were before they fully implemented BYOD for android. If the sim was properly activated or provisioned and then swapped to a non xm phone, all services worked only for a few days.
Is this still true, does it still work? Comcast is telling me my device isnt compatible and I order directly from Samsung and it was unlocked.
I can tell you that mine still works. But I wasn't trying to activate a new line of service. I simply moved my SIM from my old device.
Mine is also still working with the exception of visual voicemail.
is the note 20 ultra from samsung working 5g? mine dont get 5g signal byop
