July update for my S8+ (G955USQU1AQFJ) was released by XM on July 11th. My device arrived July 26th, and automatically updated within two hours. Note that if you look in Settings/About Phone/Android security patch level is dated June 1, 2017, because that is when Google released the updated Android security patches to vendors.
Note that the latest (July) security patch for your S8 would be G950USQU1AQFJ.
Hope this helps....
Android 8.0 (Oreo) has only been released by Google for the Pixel and Pixel XL phones. Samsung has not yet completed development and testing for Touchwiz for Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices. Samsung's ETA to push this to cellular providers is estimated to be December. So, maybe we'll see it from XM before the end of the year, and maybe not....
I know that the Oreo update is released or will be released soon, does xm have a release date for the new os for the Samsung S8, S8+, Note8?
As you all may already know, all the Google devices (Nexus and Pixel) get the updates first and then the remaining android manufacturers get them on a rolling basis. Once the manufacturer gets the update, they are pushed to the carriers which have separate roll out dates. We haven't announced a date yet.
As of yesterday 3/19/2017 I got the Oreo (Android 8.0) update. Took Samsung a long time to get this out. Wish it was the 8.1 Update. It really speeds up the loading time for apps and the memory handling is much better. I have 1.1 GB available with my S8+. Bevore it was about 800-900 MB. Very stable so far. Most updates are behind the curtain but some modifications to the UI is also nice. Notification got a big improvement.
