Sorry to hear you haven't had a great experience with the Xfinity Home app. I pulled up your account & see you had a ticket opened & resolved for you on 12/29. Can you tell me if this resolved the issues you are experiencing?

ComcastRachelH is in the bad habit of telling users to use Private Messages without telling them how. Another rep posts this:
At the top of each Forum page you will see a small envelope
This is the icon for Private Messages, referred to as ‘PM’s’. A Private Message is a way to communicate in private, to another User, Moderator, or Administrator out of public view in the Forums.
The envelope icon will have a number next to it if you have any new messages waiting.
To open a PM to read it, click on the envelope.
The simplest way to send a PM is to click on the recipient's UserID to reach their Profile page, and then click "Private Message Me".
