Threatening Spam

I have over the last few weeks once again been getting threatening Spam saying that they are spying on me (which I know they're not) and giving a current or past password that I have used.
These are using very threatening Tactics. I know this is what the elderly people are falling for and paying money to. What is Comcast doing to stop these? I regularly check my Spam to see things that I marked as not Spam continuing to go into that box accidentally.
I find it alarming that there is nowhere on the Comcast or Xfinity site to even just drop in the IP address or Transfer as an attachment the e-mails. If there is one, can you please tell me where it is? I would like to start depositing these threatening and very intimidating and scary e-mails into a place where they can be investigated. My elderly neighbor just fell for one of these and they are continuing to call her. I gave her the number for the FBI unit but since she is old I fear she is just one of probably thousands of people being taken advantage of.
If it is not in existence can the company please create a repository or place to report such things?

Re: Threatening Spam

Report Spam, Phishing, and other abusive emails to "abuse@comcast.net". Follow the "Report Spam and Phishing Emails" link on https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/ and the reporting instructions listed under that heading.

Re: Threatening Spam

I received the same email - very disconcerting.  I have wasted almost an hour searching the Comcast website, including "chatting" to a totally useless "assistant."  Comcast needs tomake this information more readily available

Re: Threatening Spam

Same here, old password, but still a bit unnerving. Comcast should at least check into the originating addresses, which may well be hacked accounts but a repository of know addresses which they can then block would help people more likely to fall for such tactics.

Re: Threatening Spam

I just received one tonight, and unnerving is right!  So wanted to say thank you for posting this.  While I knew it was awful, vile suggesting, spam it helps greatly to know it was not just me.  I did go check all my passwords that  didn’t have that one lingering anywhere.  Once again thank you for giving me peace tonight.

Re: Threatening Spam

I just got one and checked my old passwords to make sure I'm not using it. It was a very vulgar email. I've been waiting for well over an hour on hold for a Comcast rep to answer my line.

Re: Threatening Spam

I wouldn’t bother, they don’t originate from the same ipaddresses and the only thing that could possible be done is a scan for a text match on the message body which is a tall order. I get one a day now. It’s frustrating but harmless.

Re: Threatening Spam

I received probably the same email in which the scum sender stated an old password. The scum was demanding money.

Re: Threatening Spam

Yup, some bs about porn sites and video grabs off a webcam...the password got my attention but after reading the rest of the threat I knew it was a bunch of smoke. I was getting 1 every day or so from different addresses, I replied “do your worst” to each. Haven’t had one in several days but as long as you button up any logins using the password they hacked it’s nothing to sweat. It is a little nerve wracking at first, I understand how people can get a bit freaked out but it’s all empty threats and nonsense. I’d love to know if anyone’s ever actually paid.

Yeah, I didn't do what they said they had me on video doing. They said if I responded with "Proof," they would send that video to 10 people on my contact list. I usually don't cuss, but I started to answer them with, "Proof away, ya dumb mfs!" I was mad that someone would try something like this!

Re: Threatening Spam

Yeah that’s when I calmed down, what they were claiming was impossible so after double-checking my passwords it just became a nuisance.
