The Xfinity Connect app automatically setup my email account without telling me whether it is using POP3 or IMAP, and I can't find a way to get this information from the app.
So, which server does the Xfinity Connect app use: POP3 or IMAP?
That may be a safe assumption ... or maybe not. Comcast's own script readers on chat don't even know what IMAP and POP are, and in any case, I need POP because my wife and I share our Comcast email address. So the Xfinity Connect app is now uinstalled.
If you are sharing email with 2 people, then IMAP is better. POP3 was designed to be used to PULL email into a local client, so normally it would erase the email from the server once downloaded. IMAP is more of an interface to a master database, although many email clients do keep a local copy that stays in sync with it.
