Xfinity beta app not working on my Roku Ultra

Why all of a sudden can't I stream anything on my device? I'm on wifi and it's been working for months ,now it says to use on tablet or phone.It makes no sense,it's intended to be used on the Roku. I uninstalled and reinstalled,activated it and looked for updates. I also restarted the Roku Ultra.

it sounds like the problem is that the roku is no longer connected to your own home wifi service (possible that it is connected to the xfinitywifi SSID instead?).

Hi, larrylaj! Thank you for posting your question in our community. As Rustybem mentioned, did you check if you are connected to your home WiFi network? If yes, please send me a private message and include your full name, the account holder's name as it's listed on the billing statement. I will troubleshoot your issue with the Stream app. Click on my name ComcastElla, then click Send a message.

Im curious to know if this was resolved? Im looking into purchasing the Roku Ultra and before I purchase I want to make sure the Xfinity streaming app will work with the Roku Ultra device.

I set up my Roku Ultra and successfully streamed ESPN... when I now go to stream other channels it loads the channel, one get about a 1 second flash (about a “one one thousand” count) of video and audio on the channel and then the screen igoes blank and back to the XFINITY stream beta identifier screen and then one has to go Home- Restart the Roku, and then it repeats the same “1 second only” issue on multiple SD & HD channel choices when I try other channels. It is rendering the Roku as completely useless for streaming playback of my XFINITY TV. I am connected to my personal home network at the 2,4mhz bandwidth which gives me the strongest WiFi signal. If there is a fix for this, I would please like to be instructed to it. Thanks.

standard fix for this issue: remove the xfinity beta channel from the Roku home screen (highlight the xfinity stream beta channel hit the * (star) button and remove. on the Roku menu select system and then reboot/restart. after it restarts, reinstall the xfinity beta stream channel. login and be sure to accept the terms and conditions. working?

I have a Roku Ultra model 4660X2 and the. finity streaming app has been working for about a year. Now although the app loads and the program guide appears there is no content within the TV channels. When I select a live stream tv program the screen goes dark, no sound, no nothing. I thought the problem was. in the app because Netflix and other services seem fine. 

 

Xfinity support had me remove/reinstall the hdmi cable, reboot Roku, and logout of the app and reactivate it. None of that helped. I thought there was a problem with the streaming feed but I get programing on the Xfinity streaming app on my iPad on the same network so that wasn't the problem.

 

The Xfinity app on the Roku Ultra has always been rather quirky and lip sync is very bad.

additionally, I removed the Xfinity streaming app and reinstalled it. That did not fix.

ronlee67, how did you remove it exactly? Please follow these steps precisely and let me know if that helped: 

 

1. Restart Roku 
2. Uninstall XFINITY Stream app 
3. Restart Roku 
4. Install XFINITY Stream app 
5. Restart Roku

I have tried all of the items removing and reinstalling xfinity beta, rebooting the roku, etc.  Nothing seems to work.  I have an X1 box with a DVR so I qualify for the rule about having at least 1 box.  I have a Roku Ultra that simply stopped working.  I get to the point where I select watch live channel and nothing happens.  No sound or video.  Network connections are correct.  Note that every device besides Roku (Kindle, computer) works.  Any help would be appreciated.
