This is regarding the "TV Go - Out Of Home" XFINITY Strem Service:
They claim a "nation-wide" service problem with no word on the fix. My guess is that this is the begining of the battle of ISPs and Content Providers, now that we no longer have an Open Internet. I heard some time ago that Comcast was NOT going allow their streaming service to work over Non-Comcast networks. So, if you're like me (I stream over Frontier ISP), you are S-O-L. Maybe I'm wrong, but one thing that I DO know for sure is that even when 'working', the XFINITY Stream service is terrible! I see no good reason why they do not use the HTML5 Video Player instead of Flash Player ... horrible video perfomance and a crappy User Interface is going to kill this service.
I was watching the app two days ago with access to all my favorite channels, and now it only shows a few?
Is there something wrong with the website?
have you tried the same channels on a smart device using the Xfinity Stream TV app? This would narrow down issue to service area or account related.
This is an obvious case of "Intentionally break something" in my opinion. My father has been annoying me with "Try to fix this!" for days now since it keeps on giving us a message that certain channels can "Only be streamed at home!"
Little problem here: We are at home and one of the computers that is having the issue? Ethernet cable connected directly to the router. Not cool Comcast... not cool in the slightest.
I've noticed that the player has changed a bit (no easy way to move up and down channels anymore) so I am thinking that when they 'improved' their streaming player? They actually broke something fundamental in the "Detect that you are on a Comcast Home Network connection!" area.
Great. So it’s not just me and there is NO fix. Awesome.
apparently it is a nationwide problem that affects some regions more than others.
Dude, you are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ! I try to use Frontier "Away From Home" and it is absolute JUNK. They're not going to fix ANYTHING. THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS. - Article_86
