Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

We're having the same issue. HBO and Showtime work fine on real time, but OnDemand and HBO GO say that we don't. I called once and Comcast confirmed that I have HBO and reset the box but no luck. I'm hoping this isn't a week of hassle!

Same issue for FX - haven't tried others.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

I started getting all the orange keys locking me out of EVERYTHING starting May 28th.  I'm logged in, but it says I need a subscription to watch, and to log in if I'm a comcast subscriber, (I'm already logged in) but what the heck, I'll try again.  But when I click on log in nothing happens.  On the WatchTV page in the upper right hand corner it used to automatically have a big Green Checkmark which indicated that my home network was verified and I was logged in. That is gone and it says Log In.  So I try that and again, nothing happens.  No one at Comcast can help.  In addition, before all the Orange Keys popped up yesterday, I was getting this error for everything I've been trying to stream "Error 900|101000.101002.101005" and tech support has been working on this for 6 weeks now.  At least before I could click on the channels to see if anything will stream, now it doesn't even recognize me as a paid Comcast Subscriber. Not a very happy customer.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

I recently had the same problem.  Was watching a CNN program "On Demand" one day and the next day could still get "On Demand" but instead of going right to the program when I clicked it, the process of switching would lag and I'd get a message to call Xfinity, unplug the unit for a minute, and/or go to Comcast.com/help.  I also had messages on my account online that warned of a Comcast outage in my area.  Nevertheless, I wanted to know if my problem was unique. So first one repairman tried the usual fix, a new box, and new connectors, still the same.  He left and returned with another repairman and they proceeded to replace ALL the cable everywhere, add new connectors again, new splitter, and finally out to the pole.  Same thing happening only now it states "BUY" when I try on demand like I have NO subscription for any of it even regular TV shows "On Demand."  I felt sorry for the repairmen because I believe it's a glitch in the code.  Of course they can send hit after hit like the "refresh" tab on my laptop works,  but if the code is wrong, I'll still end up with "BUY" instead of "WATCH."

So Comcast you might wanna look at the code someone typed in for all of us when we ordered our subscriptions.  Because it either changed or someone changed it so we are no longer allowed to use and view what we're PAYING FOR!  .I have one more thing to say, and that is if you can't fix something like this, why is we're supposed to trust that you can provide security for our homes?

Another user with this issue. Really blows that there are 56 posts on here and only 3 are from a comcast rep and none of them help. Can't wait to dump comcast, the service is a joke, the tech support guy doesn't have a clue what to do, and we're left with getting shafted for having their service.

Preferred package here. Can watch Encore all day long. But cannot watch Encore "On Demand" without a subscription... wth? Upgrading to X1 DVR and the new "On Demand" was a bad decision.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

I am trying to watch FOX NEWS live streaming on my laptop - don't have a tv.  When I clicked FOX (little orange lock key was there) a player shows up but gives me an error message. It says, "

This network is not included in your current XFINITY® TV subscription*.

Upgrade your service now to watch this network"

So I upgraded and now NOTHING. I still can't watch it.

What a joke. No one cares...

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

The user Cassfla had posted this suggestion on page 1 of this thread:

WRONG.  All you need to do is reset license files on your Adobe Flash Player.

Try this link and click on "reset license files" and then confirm.

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager08.html

Restart your link to watch and it should work

Since he posted this not one user has posted back to say if this actually fixes the problem or not so I suggest someone try this and see if it works or not and post back for the benefit of everyone. Also if it does fix the problem, I suggest you go to his post and give him Kudos for posting a solution.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

( I have the digital preferred tv package, verifed by comcast support)

I should be able to watch and stream live tv online and through apps....Comcast support can't seem to figure it out but I think I may have an idea for those with a business account, or apartment building listed as a business or bulk account.

I have tried to connect through the Xfinity website and third party apps, on my wifi network and my 4G cell network.

CNN and Fox both have live feeds for third party testing, as well as Xfinity go for iPhone, iPad, etc.....

Nothing seems to work. I get the orange key, or the not subscribed error when trying to stream live tv or preferred channels.

I have ruled out my modem as the problem becasuse I have the same issue with 4G service.

I do not have a reciever connected to any tv in the apartment, which shouldnt matter for online watching, but just thought I'd add that. The hardware I have is a modem/router with hi-speed interwebs, and yes a tv package on my account.

I live in an apartment building, which is listed under a 'bulk' or business account. I found this out when trying to upgrade service online. When I would try to access the services page it would redirect me to the comcast business "quote" page.

I called comcast and they were able to add my tv service without any issue that im aware of, however I believe this to be the PROBLEM.

If I can't add channels online becasue my apartment is listed as a business, then it must block the service, which is causing a problem when a user is trying to use a non business service such as streaming live tv or preferred channels and some movies.

( Wouldn't want you to have too much fun at work.)

For some reason, the system is blocking the user from adding services, but the Comcast support technician can, which could be showing the tech that its all up and running fine, while the user is getting blocked from streaming and preferred channels.

Yes, no, maybe?

Tested on a macbook pro ( safari and firefox ) iPhone and iPad with up to date apps. All other restart and reset tests were done on hardware and software.

( The Adobe license reset does not help this problem.)

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

Ok, I had hoped that the license reset would fix the problem but I located a post by user Blackhat_Cuervo who said:

I just got mine fixed today. After going from department to department, I was finally transferred to an awesome agent who immediately understood my problem. The Application department are the ones that deal with this issue.

Application Department Phone number: 8775991845

Give them your info as usual. Let them know that it states, "[Insert Network Here] is not a part of your subscriptions."

Then let them know you get the orange key that pretty much means it is locked for subscribers only. What they told me is to log out of my account. Then they would send a reset application signal which would take roughly 3-5 minutes to complete. They came back on the phone while on hold during that time and let me know i could now log back in and try it. I tried it and presto it worked.

This also affects shows you would try to access on your mobile devices such as Watch ESPN, Watch Disney, Watch Disney Junior etc...anything you would have to sign into you comcast account with your comcast id with.

So not ideal that you have to make a phone call but if it fixes the problem then it's probably worth it.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

Interesting.  Mine started in April and they've been working on it for months. Originally, I couldn't stream 90% of the stations. And then the orange keys that would come and go started up. They reset my account, reset my modem, checked my connections, made some changes, nothing worked. They insisted that it was my computer, although I could stream  some programs (so how could it be my computer if some of the stations would stream???)  and I could stream on other cable companies (like Uverse), so I just said WHATEVER.  Went on vacation end of July.  No one used my computer for two weeks.  Came back in August, logged in and now everything works. Making me think it was always at their end not mine.  Regardless, glad it's working now.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

Hi Kimberly:

It's been my theory that when this problem happens it's an issue on the authentication backend which ties your login to what subscription plan you have and what channels you are allowed to access. I've never really believed that this problem was a client side issue but several people have stated that the "Reset you Flash Player license files" procedure has fixed the problem for them but several people have also said that it didn't work in their case. Why it happens and why in some cases like yours it fixes itself after a period of time is a mystery.

I'm glad everything is working for you but in case it happens again, keep the phone number to the Applications Department handy.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

Yep, agree totally Norm.  As far as resetting the Flash Player License, I wasn't going to mess with that and take a chance that it might screw up something else.  Always felt it was at their end, not mind.  But Thanks.  And I definitely will keep that tel # handy.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

Hello all. Today is Sunday Nov 9, 2014 @ 8 am Eastern time. I was having this same problem. I have all the channels, but I couldn't watch anything online. Even common channels like CNN and ABC. My laptop kept saying I needed a subscription.

I called the 877 599 1845 line. Spoke to Xeanne (pronounced "Shawn") and she had me delete cookies and browsing history, and reboot my browser. She sent an application refresh signal, and now the channels are up, some aren't but she said over the next couple hours they should all be up.

Thanks to everyone who posted here - for this tip. It worked for me!

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

Same problem.

Wiping the cache, content licenses, history ,etc... and reseting Flash had no effect.

Tried multiple computers and browsers.

Still getting the same you need HBO but already have HBO catch 22.

It started happening after I turned off the powerstrip with the modem for a few days because I was out of town.

Your two options are: call the applications department number listed in previous messages and ask them to fix it for you or you can also go directly to the HBO website and watch from there.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

It does not matter if you are cable customer. THE KEY IS THE WORDING: Live streams of all the WatchESPN Networks are available at no additional cost to fans who receive ESPN as part of their TV subscription through participating TV providers SO REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU WANT TO WATCH ESPN, TABLET, LAPTOP, NETBOOK, ETC, IF YOU DON'T HAVE ESPN ON YOUR CHANEL LINEUP, YOU CANNOT WATCH.

Re: comcast.net says HBO is not part of your subscriptions but I have HBO

I, like SO many others, am having the same problem, I have an HBO subscription and can watch it on TV, but it will not let me watch anything online, it says I need an HBO subscription, then proceeds to tell me I have one. I haven't even had comcast for a month yet. It's been like this for a few days now. BOO!

I haven't been able to watch premium channels ONLINE for 6 weeks!

Help!

I can't stomach another 45 minute call to COMCAST only to get absolutely zero satisfaction. Although customer service is trying to help noone seems to know how to address my problem. In October 2014, I signed up for HBO, STARZ, & a few other premium channels. I was hooked on Homeland and watched it from my laptop every night for a month. AND THEN I MOVED, which seems to be a clue, here, as others have had a similar problem when they also moved. Anyway, since I moved to a new address on 12/19/14 I have never, not once, been able to watch any of my premium channels from my laptop and/or PC. I have spent upwards of 8-10 hours on hold, engaged in calls, transfers and disconnects trying to get someone to fix this problem. Although they attempt to be helpful, everyone at COMCAST is equally clueless. I signed up for a 2 year contract primarily for the ability to watch premium channels ONLINE and for 6 weeks I've gotten nowhere. I am considering seeking the legal recourse to break my 2 year contract and just walk away. Given the fact that Comcast has not provided me with the only service I really want to use, what are your suggestions for continuing to pay for a service I am not receiving? Has anyone had any success? Should I just take a walk?

Thanks!

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

Ok Guys,

I am 6 weeks into having no premium channels online because I moved on 12/19/14 and COMCAST never transferred my "credentials" over to my new account. I wrote a whiny letter on the forum about an hour ago and was ready to jump ship. Decided to look one more time through the posts and found the solution!!! I am pasting the info from the post below but I think the credit goes to Blackhat_Cuervo.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

I had the same issue, did a google search, found this, called comcast, was  transferred to an excellent TV specialist, who then gave me the number for the App Department listed in prior solutions.

Basically my wife and I moved across states where there is no longer Comcast service. I returned our cable box but left our account active so that we could continue to watch channels online via internet or 3g/4g. The moment I returned the cable box is the moment the online subscritption channels began saying I was not subscribed.

After speaking with the Applications department I was told that they can't re-activate, re-register, or update info telling the system I am subscribed if I do not have a cable box period.

HBO GO works. The AMC mobile app does NOT work (I don't know why). Trying to watch any channels via comcast online tv through a laptop or desktop does not work for those channels, nor on a tablet or phone using the TV GO app.

If you run into this issue just know this:

It happens if your cable box does not receive updated info after moving or possibly getting a new box.

It happens if you have returned your cable box and do not have one.

It's a real shame that I need a physical box plugged into a wall somewhere to simply access online content that I know I have a subscription to. It's 2015 COMCAST!!!!!!!!!! Come on!!!!

Having said that. I'm SOL except for the HBO GO APP and all of the Comcast reps I spoke with were absolutely professional, kind, and quick to understand my issue. I suppose it's the design behind the service that needs work here.

Re: Says I need a subscription to watch...

I always have this issue as well, I resolve it by simply.. signing out, closing browser, reopening it, sign in, and it usually sorts itself out, sometime it persists, I just go to "My Accounts" and go to my TV subscription page even though it says im subscribed, i still refresh that page and then go back to the internetTV and it'll work itself out, pretty annoying i agree.

Just go to "My Account" and check your "subscriptions" and refresh that page, and then go back to the XfinityTV online.

I am having the same problem trying to watch FX and FXX programming.  Even though I can watch the channels on my TV set, I cannot watch any of its online video on-demand.

I'm paying money for these channels, so why can't I watch them at my own leisure?
