I am guessing this issue is related to the recent lawsuit with Tivo but I am trying to understand why when you delete a show from the Xfinity Stream app - you can see the deleted content in the Deleted Recordings and there is a Recover option to restore the show but if you select this option it tells you it no longer available - why show an option that can't be used?
I also would like to know why the recover feature is not working online or on the app.
would you give a specific example and be sure to state what equipment you are using.
I have the X1 system, but this error was occurring when I try to recover deleted shows from Xfinity's website or on the application. I forgot that Comcast had to remove remote DVR scheduling and features from their website and from the application due to patent violations. I am able to delete recordings on the website and application, I just can't recover them or set recordings. I can however do this all on my actual set-top boxes.
Here's a reply from another thread from a Comcast employee:
Due to a legal ruling, for the foreseeable future we are removing the remote scheduling of DVR recording features. We apologize for the inconvenience, we are actively pursuing an appeal of the ruling.
If you’re away from your DVR box and cannot schedule a recording and miss a show, check to see if it's available on XFINITY On Demand! We apologize again for the inconvenience
Any update on the appeal to reinstate use of remote DVR scheduling and use of the recover option from the Xfinity Stream app?
It is still in legal.
