I'm having the same experience on my Macbook and Mac minis. 

 

*I've tried multiple browsers, all of which are up-to-date (chrome, firefox, safari)

*I've cleared browser cache and cookies

*works on my mobile phone using the xfinity stream iOS app, but not on my actual desktop/laptop computers

*ensured there are no blocked plugins/extension affecting this in each browser used

*rebooted router/modem

*ran speed test and clock at about 80 mbps

 

Turning "Play Best Available" to OFF is a great workaround, but definitely not a solution to the root problem.

 

There are a large portion of HD channels that just continue to error out with: (Error TVAPP-00206), but other HD channels will stream just fine. 

 

Hoping Comcast figures this one out as well. Frustrating!

We apologize that you are experiencing an issue when attempting to use the Xfinity Stream Website. We want to get this resolved for you as soon as possible, can you please answer the following questions?

 

Are you receiving this error when you are attempting to watch anything on the site or just certain programming? If only certain programming, can you please provide me what specifically you were attempting to view and how you where viewing this content (via Cloud DVR, OnDemand, live TV) when you received this error? Finally, can you tell me if this is happening when attempting to view content on your home network or while away from your home?

I have the same problem when trying to stream most HD sports on my desktop. Same error message. This has beem going on for over two weeks. They have even had a tech out for over two hours and could not fix.

Thank you for intervening - this is very frustrating.  My experience is that while trying to watch HD channels on Live TV from home on my MacBook Pro certain channels work (eg CBS, Fox Sports) but the vast majority do not (eg ESPN, CBC, NBCSN, ROOT Sports, etc).  The error message is always the TVAPP-00206 message.  I get the same result using Safari, Chrome, or Firefox.  This problem started for me on March 8, 2017.  All channels worked just fine for the previous two years until that day.  I also note that the formatting of the screen changed on March 8, when volume and full screen controls moved from bottom of screen to top of screen.  It would appear that some sort of major change was implemented by Xfinity on March 8 that had unintended consequences.  Please fix it!!  Many thanks...

I first noticed it on March 9 when I tried to watch a hocky game. I just spent over an hour chatting with Comcast, and they still don't know what is wrong. I live in NH.

ive had same problem last couple of weeks. can no longer watch nfl netowrk or some espn channels

the so called fix is no "fix", watching streamingtv in standard def when you are supposed to be getting HD is not a legit fix. This has been going on since March 8th when you changed the app/live streaming from pc. It's the same for me random station in HD. I've had local station it happen on, but a lot of sports stations, ESPN (all of them), MLB Network. I'm in Connecticut and after 7 calls to tech support with no solution (they don't seem to know what's going on) I give up and just hope enugh will complain to fix it. Whatever you did on March 8th is the problem.

Spent over two hours today texting and on the phone and they admit that they have a problem, but don't know how to fix it.

well that's a start, forst step to solving a problem is admitting that you have one. I talked to a bunch of tech, level 2 techs and they tried different things besides the usual uplpug the modem. Nothing has worked. walk back what you did on that March 8th update that changed the setup around.

Contacted Comcast today ans asked what they were going to do about me losing several days of HD streaming. They took $20.00 off my bill.

Everything works again.  My thanks to whoever at Comcast found the bug and fixed it in time for hockey playoffs!!

just spent another 45 min. talking with support techs and stoll not have beeen able to resolve the problem. they said they would call me again tomorrow to let me know what can be done. I guess it's wait and see time again.

This appears to be occurring again for any Live or recorded show that I attempt to watch.

are you using the Chrome browser? did you try clearing cookies and cache on the browser?

I am getting this error in chrome on local live NBC from my PC.  Clearing the cookies and cache did nothing.  Works fine for CBS live.

pleae try this: call 800-comcast. select billing. ask the agent to perform a deep background account refresh. Once started it can take up to an hour to complete. working after that time?

I also received this code TVAPP-00206. I'm out of USA and need to acces TV GO CHANNELS , I m not allowed since a received that code.

the streaming is not available outside of USA.

if you are having these error codes on the stream site in the subject have you tried running Chrome making sure flash is enabled always? also, smart devices (apple, android) can use the xfinity stream TV app to watch.

Still getting this error, unable to watch the world cup on fox HD but can get it on telimundo hd...

I am getting this error message on two different Rokus and on my computer when trying to watch PBS Create channel 268 in Harrisonburg, VA. I called tech support yesterday and she did an account refresh and still not working. I did a chat today with another agent who did a refresh of account and it didn't help. Now I am waiting for a call from the "higher team" to help. This all started with an update to the streaming App I use on the Rokus on June 21. Before that the channel worked just fine on both Rokus and computer.

I have had this problem for 2 days now. I cleared all cashe and cookies from all browsers, but still have the problem. Can you help?

***UPDATE ***

Was told by support technician that the Create Channel is no longer available to steam on Roku or Computer.  I am very sorry because I really liked watching that channel.

A Technician ultimately came out to my house from COMCAST, and held his little meters up and told me "We have no indication you've lost signal for your internet or TV". Apparently the "No Internet" and the "TVAPP-00206" I'm seeing is in my IMAGINATION!!!!!!

Still getting the TVAPP-00206 error message after almost 4 months in NJ. It is sporadic. Now, maybe because Xfinity is working on the problem for 110+ days, getting random freezes that don't ALWAYS go to the error message or the we're having trouble connecting screen. Yesterday last half hour of an hour show totally out of dialogue sync, like an old japanese horror flic. Error message TVAPP-00206 3 times during the day. You are not imagining. I have had at least 6 instances a week for 20 weeks. It's approching theft of services on the part of Comcast. BTW, I do watch majority of my 'TV' on my laptop.
