Errors using Xfinity Stream app on Samsung smart TV

We recently switched to Comcast internet service, and decided to add the option for streaming TV.  Once we had the internet set up, we connected the TV and downloaded the Xfinity Stream Beta app.  For the first couple days the app worked without a hitch and we could watch TV. After that, we've had issues and haven't been able to watch TV at all.

 

We'll either get errors (TVAPP-00200, then after 'Try Again', TVAPP-00206) when selecting a show to watch, or the app won't load at all.

 

I've verified that our TV is one of the supported models - Samsung Smart TV, Model NU7100, Software version T-KTM2LAKUC 1152.7  (found in this article: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/activating-xfinity-stream-samsung). 

 

Any other thoughts on what to try, or why it's not working?

Welcome to the forums. Thank you for letting us know you're having issues accessing the Stream App using your Samsung TV. Unfortunately, Samsung TV's are not a supported device. Follow this link to view the Xfinity Stream App Minimum System Requirements. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello All,

 

I wanted to revisit this post to correct information I provided above. I would first like to apologize for the confusion. It was brought to my attention that we do in fact Support Samsung Smart TV's. 

 

Here is a link that will provide you with all of the compatible Samsung Devices. At the bottom of this page, it will also walk you through the steps of activating the Stream App on your Samsung device. 

 

We do have an official forums post regarding the Xfinity Stream TV app on Samsung Smart TVs

 

If you still run into issues after following these steps, please let me know.

I've been through all those steps, and still receive the 00206 and 00200 errors when trying to watch live TV through my Samsung device.

Thank you for letting me know. Because of the recent number of people who have reported this, I am waiting for confirmation of whether or not there is an open investigation for this. I just purchased the same exact Samsung smart tv 7100 and receiving the same error on every channel.

Correction, it’s only some channels but the channels I do get are all small (75% of screen space)

Does that TV have a screen resolution setting?

Are you still receiving this error? As for the %75 percent of the screen space, have you checked the screen resolution? Do you have SD or HD programming?

I am still unable to watch Live TV through the app. I am able to watch on demand content. However I also have the issue with the content not going full screen. The guide and progress bar at the bottom of the screen appear 16:9 but the video appears 4:3.

The Xfinity Stream App for your Samsung will only work through an Xfinity home network.  Meaning ... If you have internet service through some other provider.  It will not work.

We are having the same exact issues with the error messages sometimes and the 75% screen. The wierd thing is that the guide is full screen. It goes to the smaller screen when you hit the watch button.

look at your most recent bill. Is there a line that states HD technology free for $10 ?

please call 800-Comcast and select Customer service. Ask them to check to see if your subscription includes the HD technology service.

Same issue here.  Purchased a Samsung NU710D, installed the Xfinity Stream TV beta app without any issues.  I’m obviously on my home network since it’s on my Samsung smart TV.  I can get on demand and some Live TV stations like the History channel and Disney Channel; however, no local stations like ABC, NBC, Fox Sports, CW, etc.  I subscribe to HD and have the HD technology fee.  Any updates on when this will be corrected will be appreciated.

it isn't an app/TV issue. Call 800-Comcast for your sympton and ask them to do a full account refresh for apps. select TV Tech suppport.

I called Comcast on Friday, was transferred to a specialist for the Xfinity Stream TV app and we were disconnected before he could solve the problem.  I didn’t receive a call back so I called back, waited on hold again only to be told that they were going to transfer me to a specialist again at which point my call was dropped again.  It seems impossible to reach the right people and they do not return the call when it’s dropped.

I am so frustrated with the majority of the support agents I have spoken to and the level of support I have received. The people i've talked to can only go through a scipt of the 5 different things they can try. I've wasted hours of my life over my issue and gotten no where.
