I constantly run to the samr problems as everyone alse in this chat: the constant comercial looping, the10-20 min of comercial freez, the show tha tgoes back to the begining after the comercials and ect.Today I was explained by customer cervice that ther is " skip the Ad" butten that I should click on, have eneone see such a butten, because I have not and I was promested an update to my account, what ever it means....
a) What is the Asset Name, Season number/Episode number and please provide the URL/link of the video
Bob's Burgers S6, E4 and 5
b) Name of the ad that is disrupting playback or the last ad that played
Today the last ad that played was for the show Lucifer, but yesterday it was American Idol.
c) During what set of commercial was the issue happening? (example: "The video does not resume after the second set of commercials)
The video does not resume after the 2nd set of commercials
d) What Operating System you are using? (Mac 10.6, Windows 8, Windows 7, etc.)
e) What Web Browsers are you using? (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
f) What time of day did this occur? (example: "Issue happened when I tried watching video at 3:30 PM EST) This may seem like an odd request but ads can rotate throughout the day. This means that a video may not work at 10:00 AM but will work at 3:00 PM.
I have tried to watch the episode evening (around 5/6pm)
Every episode of every show I watch.
Any given ad.
Any set of commercials.
Windows 8 or 10
Explorer, Edge, Firefox.
Any time of day.
Same ole junk, freezes, restarts at the beginning, etc. Its ridiculous and you guys charge way too much for service not to get this fixed by now. I'm getting ready to say hello to EPB service I guess if you don't figure it out.
I'm trying to watch http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/watch/Fargo/5657254229971472112/584768579647/Fargo/videos but it's stuck on the rating screen.
My first time watching Xfinity on the internet, and it's been a very disappointing experience. Inexcusable.
It happens on other episodes and on every browser I have: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Edge. I'm running Windows 10 and it's fully updated.
BTW, my wifi usage suggests that it's streaming - but nothing shows up in my browser.
Oh, I see this thread is only for ad-related problems. I guess I'll find out where the other problems are discussed. Sheesh.

Hello, I am having the same issue. I am attempting to watch Quantico, everytime i watch the video the first set of commericials play without a problem and the show plays the next set of commercials freeze and take forever to play, please help!!!
I have had the same problem. Happened to me on Badlands and Limitless and Player. Tired of hearing Comcast Joe ask for info but offer no help. This problem has existed for months. If it was a priority to Comcast it would have been fixed. Its obviously not so we are screwed.
we really like watching our shows when we are traveling but it is really frusterating when nearly everytime a comercial comes on, it either locks up and requires multiple resets or it stutters through the ad so badly that it takes 5 to 10 minutes to get through a 30 second add. It is really irritating to the point of hating the ad. If the advertisers new this they would be, rightly, upset and wonder if their money is well spent.
The shows play fairly well with a few glitches it is very irritating to have to struggle through the adds. I don't mind the adds if they would JUST PLAY SMOOTHLY.
FYI this problem happings on my samsung phone, WIndows 10 laptop and my Windows 8 Tablet. In short, it happens all the time on every piece of equipment I have.
Please fix this
Why arent you using an ad blocker? I never see commercials except an occasional hulu one. Hulu makes me sit thru their dead commercial screens, anything else just moves right along. been a godsend for me!
just read on msn news page that comcast will be offering online streaming as an additional pay service (like hulu or amazon).
i wonder if that is what their focus has been on,and that is why our problems with online viewing has taken a back burner....because for now,it's free.
Wow, it's now 2016, and I'm having the exact same issue these people were reporting years ago, watching a variety of shows, on a variety of browsers, on a variety of operating systems, on a variety of computers, on a variety of internet connections, at a variety of times throughout the day. So zero progress has been made? Does anyone at comcast care about the user experience?
The ads play sometimes for as long as 10 or 15 minutes before returning for a 4 minute chunk of content. The ads frequently crash my browser. I am often met with a black screen for several minutes at a time, followed either by more insufferable ads, or I have to refresh the page and start the whole process over again. I do not have ad blocker software enabled.
It's pretty ridiculous that this is still an issue. I should be able to watch a 40 minute show without having to watch an hour of commercials in order to do so.
I totally agree that it's incredibly frustrating. Especially when you look at other forums on this page and see that Comcast sometimes responds within the day to the issue. I feel like this issue has not been a priority for Comcast.
It appears that this issue has been going on for YEARS!
I am going to provide a detailed account of a typical atrocious Comcast Xfinity streaming experience below. I was watching the video on AMC.com via Xfinity, however I also have these problems while viewing episodes of shows on Comcast Xfinity's own page. I find it hard to believe that Comcast needs further details to "fix" this problem, which I see has been going on since at least 2011. I can't help but think they are trying to shift the burden to the consumer and the consumer's device by asking for all this information. I have these sorts of problems no matter which browser I'm using (Safari or Chrome), time of day, day of the week, or show that I am watching (The Walking Dead, Scandal, Law & Order, Better Call Saul, etc). Why is this still a problem when there are other streaming sites, such as Netflix and Hulu, that work perfectly fine? Anyway, this is what I suffered through today:
Start time: 4:23pm
Device: Macbook Pro
Show: The Walking Dead S6E12
*Always freezes at beginning of ad, with black screen
First commercial break
Froze on Ad 6 of 6
I reloaded the page and Ad 1 of 1 for Walking Dead video game played
It then restarted the episode from the beginning
When I clicked to the appropriate area (right after first commercial break), it started another series of 6 ads
Froze on Ad 4 of 6
I reloaded the page and Ad 1 of 1 for Tom Clancy’s The Division played
It then restarted the episode from the beginning, again
I clicked to appropriate area (right after beginning of first commercial break) again, and it started another series of 6 ads
Made it through the six ads (I’ve now watched about 16 ads) to second segment of the show
Second commercial break
Froze on Ad 6 of 6 (directly following commercial for TWD video game)
I reloaded page and Ad 1 of 1 played, for Delta airlines
It then restarted the episode from the beginning, again (for the third time)
I clicked to appropriate area (right after second commercial break), and it started another series of 6 ads
Froze on Ad 6 of 6 AGAIN
I reloaded the page and Ad 1 of 1 played, for Kickstart drink
It then restarted the episode from the beginning, AGAIN (for the 4th time)
I clicked to appropriate area (right after second commercial break), and it started another series of 6 ads
Froze on Ad 5 of 6
I reloaded the page and it then restarted the episode from the beginning
I clicked to appropriate area (right after beginning of second commercial break), and Ad 1 of 1 played, for Better Call Saul
FINALLY it resumed where I left off (after 17 more ads, totaling 33 ads now)
Third commercial break
Froze on Ad 6 of 6
I reloaded the page and it then restarted episode from the beginning
I clicked to appropriate area (right after end of third commercial break) and it actually restarted the episode without playing more ads!
Fourth commercial break
Ad 1 of 1 for TWD video game
Show successfully resumed
Fifth commercial break
Froze on Ad 4 of 6 (right after Cadillac CT6 ad)
I reloaded the page and it played Ad 1 of 1 (for Kickstart drink) and then started the episode from the beginning
I clicked to appropriate area (right after fifth commercial break), and it started another series of 6 ads
Froze on Ad 6 of 6
It restarted the episode so I clicked to appropriate area and it actually resumed without further ads THANK GOD
Grand total of ~48 ads and untold frustration
5 different shows getting stopped by same commercial at same occurence.
Monday 3/7, between 6 and 8 pm MDT. Simpsons, Family Guy, Last Man on Earth, all most recent episodes, all in first commercial break, second commercial. Windows 7 Pro, Chrome. Possibly ad blocker, but for the last year it will just say "unable to play this ad" and continue, rather than black screen and buffering without end.
Tuesday 3/8, between 5 and 7 pm MDT. Lucifer, Last Man On Earth, all most recent episodes, all in first commercial break, second commercial, Simpsons, most recent episode, 1st break, third commercial. Windows 7 Pro, Chrome AND on Mac OSX 10.6.8, Firefox. No ad blocker on Mac OSX. No issue on Blindspot, latest episode, neither on Win 7/Chrome nor OSX/Firefox
Tuesday 3/8, 7:45pm MDT, Gotham, most recent episode, first break, third commercial, Win 7 Pro, Chrome
This is an issue I am having and sounds like a global issue however comcast doesn't pay me to keep a log of my television watching and report the particulars on when it freezes. It happens all the time on a variety of shows at various times and various commercials.
Perhaps until Comcast can do it right they should take care of their customers and eliminate commercials. I travel for work so this is the only way I get to watch my shows and so if it wont work then what use do I have for your' service.
People... Stop doing their job for them. Force them to fix it.
You are currently opted out of having ads on Xfinity.com customized for you based on the ZIP code of your XFINITY Internet service address and current subscription and usage of Comcast products and services, and interest-based advertising. To opt in to these customizations, click the OPT INbutton below. YET, every show I want to watch is hosted by HULU and therefore, I am forced to watch commercial after commercial. I want NONE.
There is nothing quite as frusterating as trying to watch just a show and one specific ad not load each time and force you to refresh and rewatch the ads over and over until you get lucky. I have been rewatching ads for the past 20 minutes and it always gets stuck at the one for a floor company, I think, and a little boy eating his ice cream cone.
The Ball Park ad freezes up EVERYTHING. It happens in multiple shows. I cannot finish watching any of them once the Ball Park ad comes on.
A) The asset names are:

Name of ad: Ball Park
C) During what set of commercial was the issue happening? During every Ball Park ad. It could be during the first set of commercials, or the second. It happens whenever the Ball Park commercial comes on.
D) OS: Windows
E) Browser: Firefox
F) Time of day that Ball Park freezes up my live streaming: 0200, 0300, 0400, 0500, 0600, 0700, 0800, 1000, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700, 1800, 1900, 2000, 2100, 2200, 2300,
These ads are rediculous. COMCAST! Fix this. I am seriously considering another service because of these issues. I will not list all the programming that I've had issues with. This is your job. Not mine. I understand the necessity of ads but the constant barrage must stop. I'm paying for an entertainment service not a classified paper. Hulu does a better job than you and that is saying something.
What do you mean when it happens and on what program. IT HAPPENS ALL THE FREAKING TIME ON EVERYTHING I WATCH! Why do I pay $250 dollars a month to get commercials on my television and then have to listen to the same GD commercials 4 and 5 times in a row when I log on with my computer. Not to mention that it freezes and shuts down and when I try to watch it over at the place I left off I have to watch the same GD commercials all over again and again and again. W T F, you people are becoming more and more greedy and WE THE PEOPLE should get together and disconnect our service and maybe after a million or two COMCAST will start treating it's customers with some GD respect and stop cheating their customers.
And look they are even sensoring us, the customers who unfortunately, made them the tyrannical corporation it is today. Ridiculous!!!!!!
a) Bates Motel, Season Four, Episode 1
b) Pretty much all of them!
c) All commercials - on a loop, over and over - and not much of the show!
d) Mac - 10.11.3
e) Google Chrome
f) 11 AM
Wow. This service is truly miserable. First, it wil get to the end of a segment, play 15 to 20 minutes of loud ads - then freeze on a blank screen. Restarting navigation or refreshing the page gets to the point right before the ads start - and they all repeat again until the black out and getting stuck or - occasionally - you get to watch the rest of the show. Is this intentional? Please fix this.

This is my problem: Each program is broken into segments and an advertisement plays before the show starts and at the end after the credits. When I'm watching a show a segment finishes and a commercial set plays, at the end of the commercial the show will start again but if I just finished (for example the third set) instead of the next segment playing one of the earlier segments replays (using my example either the first, second or third segment) will start to replay again instead of the segment that's supposed to.
I am able to use the track bar / progress bar to move to the segment that was supposed to play without having to watch another set of commercials but it gets harder the farther you get through the show to keep track of where you are and sometimes I have to scroll to a segment and watch for a few seconds then decide "I watched this already" and scroll to the next until I find where I should be.
Hello Everyone -- Our Ad Ops team has been made aware of these issues and are working to address them. It is recommended to start using xtv.comcast.net as ad related issues are not an issue there.
I am closing this thread to prevent it from expanding any further.
Please create your own separate post if you are still using our old format, or unable to use our new site, and are still experiencing ad related issues and we will address.
