Xfinity Arris Cable Box(Serial #: M11305TE0282) not showing Digital Audio Output device name

I am trying to connect Digital Audio out from Arris cable box to external speaker and it is not showing  or recognizing  device in Audio setup.

The following things I did to connect, but there is no luck.

 

  1. Connected Digital Audio output to external speaker by  digital optical cable.
  2. Selected Audio setup
  3. Selected Stereo

There was no sound coming out in the external speakers. Though we tried with Advanced options there is no success.

 

Output Devices tried:

  • Bose SoundTouch 10
  • Headphones

Please help to solve this.

The serial number doesn't tell us which make and model you have.

We have the RNG150N Model and maker is Arris.

swap the box for an XG2 and feed audio to the receiver and then connect receiver to TV. if your receiver and TV has ARC marked ports connect set top box to the TV and HDMI ARC to the two devices with HDMI cables.
