We have discovered that the remotes to our new X1 boxes don't work some times. The only way to correct it is to unplug the cable box and then plug it back in. Yesterday we even got an error message of RDK 03032 which doesn't even show as an error code. We could not get the DVR box to change channels or record but our other 2 boxes were working just fine. Of course, customer service just said there was an outage in the area. Well, as soon as we unplugged it and then plugged it back in it rebooted and worked just fine. The message here is, always unplug before bothering to call customer service.

I've had problems with the remote freezing. I think it's a signal recognition timing problem. I found that a soft reboot reactivates the remote in less than three minutes. A soft reboot is accomplishes by pressing the green circle button onthe front of the box and then pressing it again. The hard boot, pulling the power and then repowering, is not necesary.
