Voice control not working

Voice control not working

The microphone / voice control has suddenlt stopped woking. Get message "Somethings not quite right!", "Voice commends aren't working right now, try again later!"

First time this has occured..

"something not right" message when I try to use voice command...

-took batteries out of remote for 30 sec

-refreshed X1

-restartedX1

-reinstalled remote..works fine other than voice

Any ideas?

not sure why (specifically) but it is functioning again...

Yes, it has have you tried re-pairing your remote and or resetting your box.

It still is not working for me. How do I repair it as it still says somethings not quite right when I hold it, it is red. Hope you can help

Is this resolved on comcast's end? Because it just started with my remote today. I have reset the modem tv box and no dice

try the voice remote for example say channel 48. do you see an error message on the screen? does the remote's LED change light 'blue' while speaking? if you say 'about' with the remote what is the remote battery level per cent shown?

Did you consider getting a new remote at your nearest Xfinity Store for free?

Yes I replaced the remote with another one in the house that was not being used and everything works fine now.  It's funny how  this started during a Comcast update...

Did you try standing closer to the X1 box?  Did you hold the mic button long enough for a display to appear?

Thanks for the tips,  I think that it's a broken remote issue ... trip to the comcast store to replace is the solution!

That is to pair with TV. It still does not.make voice work

All,

 

We sincerely apologize if you are experiencing issues with your voice remote. If you are experiencing the "Somethings not quite right!" or "Voice commands aren't working right now, try again later!" errors we recommend you wait a few minutes and try again. 

 

If the issue persists, we also recommend resetting your television box by unplugging it from the power outlet for 30 seconds to 1 minute and plug it back in. 

 

If your commands are not recognized, make sure you are speaking clearly and at a natural, conversational volume. Hold the remote one to eight inches away while giving a command and hold down the Microphone (Mic) button until you finish speaking. If you are still having trouble, consider whether or not there are other sources of noise near you that may be interfering with your voice commands.

The battery levels in your remote could also have an impact on voice commands. To check your battery level, visit the About section of the X1 Settings menu. If your battery level is red or yellow, try changing your batteries
