Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

Some suggest going to audio settings on the box and if it’s set to hd, set it to stereo. I did and it worked for awhile but went out of sync again. I just switch inputs back and forth vie the upper left button on the xfinity controller and that also works.

sync (mpeg streams) is up to the 'sink' (in your case a TV) to adjust.  moving the HDMI to a different port as well as a TV firmware update can reet the sync settings of your TV. use your TV's remote and go to the TV menu to the audio section and adjust 'lip sync'. fixed?

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

I will call the lead tech for the installation of fiber optic in my community. Two techs have been here and I still have the problem. I believe it is a software problem that Comcast will not admit. I will email all the local subscribers and see how it's going for them.

mpeg (the way video is sent digitally) is a set of streams. the TV in your case receives the streams and uses timing markers to be sure video is in sync (there is a normal sync signal and one about 1/2 second later as a backup). use your TV remote and fix it yourself.

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

The problem has gone away on it's own, I'm suspecting Comcast made a correction.  It has been weeks and the probem has not re-appeared.

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

I've done that. Have 3 TVs. Problem of syncing on all three.  This is a Comcast problem and they can't fix it for some reason. I will keep complaining and advising to avoid Comcast in the hope they will respond. I am an old school technician and this is a software problem Comcast will not admit to nor able to fix at this time. So Comcast service should be avoided.

For now the problem has stopped, and I do agree it is on Comcast end.  Lets hope it doesn't come back.  Maybe they figured it out and corrected the problem.

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

Yes. It just started over the past two weeks. I am streaming via Roku devices on several televisions and it happens on all of them.  Internet signal and speeds are good. It just started happening out of the blue.

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

adding.... audio sync is done by the TV. use the TV rremote and audio menu and adjust the lead/lag time to match. this is by connected HDMI device. changing on the one device will not affect other hdmi port connected devices.

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

I have an old Panny plasma with no sync lag time in audio menu.
However, X1 controller B button under page down button brought up page with voice guidance option. Scroll to it and hit center circle button which will bring up voice guidance speech rate. Press center circle button again and you can adjust rate, regular, fast, faster.

voice guidance is for reading text on the screen verbally that is currently displayed on the screen. it is not lip-sync. what is the video connection you are using? HDMI requires the sink to be able to do lip sync adjustment (part of mpeg handling).

It’s not coaxial but regular hdmi cable.

hdmi is digital video/audio. you might want to recheck your TV menu system (is it a TV or a monitor?)

your menu for Viera Link. I see it on page 133 of the manual where it discusses settings for lipsync. ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/television/ehelp/tc-pxxst60_en_ehelp.pdf. the eHelp link on your TV's remote can take you to the document. have you updated your firmware to the most recent version?

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

It’s hit and miss with my old Panny plasma tv. It’s been good the last few weeks. I guess newer lcd TVs have a lip speed control somewhere in the tv menu.

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

My box has nothing to do with this.  I am having the audio out in front of the video problem on my laptop when I stream through the  Internet.

Any suggestions?

Re: Suddenly I have Audio sync issues

You may have greater download ability then Xfinity has upload capacity. Not sure how to do it but try looking up increasing buffer size on your laptop
