At least once a day or once every 2 days my cable box loses connection and when it wants me to restart I do and the get the purple screen with RDK-03004. I let it sit like this until my cable comes back on. This is very frustrating. I've contacted comcast about this and when ever they send a tech. out the problem is never resolved. I'm not sure what else I can do.

That code is a loss of signal, your best bet is to keep working with your techs. Do you lose internet service at the same time when the box goes down?
