Looking forward to the start of the Premier League season this weekend. 4 Extra Time Games are scheduled for 10am Eastern Time Saturday, as noted below. So far, there is no Premier League folder in the On Demand section where these games should be. Understand things are busy with Olympics, but please confirm these matches will be available this weekend. Thanks!
This is the current information from NBC Sports Game Finder:
Extra time matches will be available to all X1 customers while the game is live. We will not be making these games available to subscribers that have non-X1 service.
In-Progress/Live Games airing on Extra Time will be available roughly 5min after each match STARTS. You will have the ability to restart the match from the beginning as well as fast-forward! Once the game is over the ondemand version will be taken off the menu until an official NBC replay asset goes live later in the afternoon (most of this is due to contractual rights between NBC and Premiere League).
I can confirm we have all of this weekends titles ready:
Appreciate the information and the timely response. It would be great if some of these Extra Time games were available later in the day as replays as well, contracts willing.
Well, here we are - a new premier league season starts tomorrow, Saturday August 13th. Lo and behold, I look for the Southampton vs Watford game and it is not on!
Really, the worst premier league experience possible is supplied by Comcast. Why can't you guys play every game like you are supposed to do?
I started a thread in the X1 forum and Comcast Tony confirmed these matches would be available 5 minutes after kickoff.
So far, I don't see an Extra Time folder in the Premier League section here in Atlanta, but it may pop up shortly.
The only place I am seeing the games is in the match replay folder, and it says I have to subscibe to something to watch. Comcast never makes this easy.
Now the games are in the match replay folder, but they all say free with subscription and ask me to subscribe. I already have NBCSN in my package but there is no watch option.
This is a joke now 35min in and we can't watch anything. Typical from comcast I reached out to the live chat and they told me the games are only available online
Comcast supports NBC channels. Why aren't the Premier Leage extra time games available on xfinity On Demand. This issue crops up every time the new season starts. They have been available on On Demand for the last 2 seasons. Why aren't they available On Demand this season?
Just checked at half time (I am watching it on my crappy computer screen) and there is no Southampton vs Watford game on demand or elsewhere. I guess Comcast Tony just wanted to get rid of you. Really lame........
Couldn't agree more - we are using a completely different system this year, performance and stability concerns should be a thing of the past when it comes to ensuring the games are up on-time and free of playback issues.
We know the root cause for today's issue, and we also know the fix - we will be making sure we have the proper automated processes in place so this is not a problem going forward.
Apologies Tony. It was a bit below the belt.
Just frustrated about missing games.......again.
For it to happen on the first game after a season of issues was just too much.
So was anyone actually able to watch the Live Extra games via On Demand --> Premier League --> Replays? When the games were on, there were four matches listed there but when trying to watch them the only options available were "Subscribe" and "Mark Watched". Then, after the games ended they became watchable, as one would expect since they were in the Replay folder. Problem was, none of those four games appeared in the Live Matches folder so they could not be watched live except on through the Xfinity TV app or streamed via browser.
So, is the fix to:
1. Allow matches under the Replays folder to be watched live, or
2. Present the live extra matches in the Live Matches folder for watching live?
Either way works for me as long as I can watch the games live. Thanks, Tony and team.
Yes I did see that. What I didn't see was the 'extra time' game I wanted to watch; Crystal Palace V West Bromwich Albion. Or any other extra time games.
I watched the game by chrome casting from my phone to the TV, but that caused occasonal buffering and had up to a minutes lag behind real time. (I tested with the main show on CNBC before the game.)
For me, the Palace game was present in Match Replays and available for viewing after the game ended, just not during.
Now I'm seeing something odd, too, hours later. Going back into On Demand on my main box shows no Match Replays, but on my mini box on the 2nd TV the Hull/Leceister match is available and is watchable. Why the difference?
And all the previous live extra games in the Replays folder are gone. I wonder how long those are supposed to be available post-match, and what criteria is used to make a game available for replay.
Comcast was really the only choice I had in the area I recently moved to if I wanted internet speeds above 25Mb/s. While I'm pretty happy with Comcast internet so far, my old Uverse system was WAAAAAY better in handling NBC Live Extra, using discrete HD channels that were recordable. Boy do I miss that right now.
Any reason why Comcast doesn't create dedicated channels for the Premier League Extra Time games? DirecTV, ATT Uverse & Century Link Prism all have dedicated channels strictly for these games. The live/On demand option is very frustrating, especially when you want to switch back & forth between games.
I wonder if this question is ever going to be answered?
1) Why aren't there dedicated live channels as there on other cable services?
2) Will live matches be in the live folder going forward?
I can't help but notice that none of the "fixes" or "answers" offered by Comcast in this thread actually address the root problem.
Still waiting on thay...
Premier League Extra Time is accessible through X1's XFINITY On Demand menu so as to be able to offer these games live (generally Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM ET). The cable system capacity (bandwidth) that supports more traditional linear carriage is already in use supporting more widely-viewed content and other services.
All XFINITY TV customers with an HDTV, HD TV box and access to XFINITY On Demand are able to watch a limited number of each week's matches (non-extra time) on a delayed basis.
Premier League replays expire early the following Saturday morning, before the next week of matches begins. Due to contractual restrictions imposed by Premier League, each team may appear in the Match Replays folder a maximum of 25 times over the 38-week season, so not all matches will be available each week, regardless of where each game appeared live
The premier league extra time (EPL soccer games that are not on the regular channels) games are not showing pon demand. Has comcast stopped the premier league extra time games on demand?
So all the other providers have designated channels for the premier league live extra games that we can switch in between games and comcast are going to to put it on demand and only available 5 mins after the game has started! unbelievable. time to switch.
I switched because they told me they would have premier league live extra and extra time as services. They are not holding up to what they originally said and are providing a terrible experience for soccer fans. I am switching.
Why not just make them available 15 minutes before kick off time like last year so we fans can enjoy the start of the game and not miss the first 5 minutes? A response would be appreciated.
I can answer for you. COMCAST HATES SOCCER. They claim that all of the bandwidth is being used at 10am on a saturday morning! Dish and DIRECTV can provide the games on linear channels, comcast could if it wanted but generally hates soccer and doesnt care about the 100's of thousands of soccer fans who use this service. All soccer fans who use prem league extra should switch. it is the only way they will take notice. I will start a facebook page "comcasts hates soccer" later tonight. please view and like the page.
Like last weekend, all 3 Extra Time matches say Free w/subscription and offer no watch option. Please correct ASAP as the games are about to begin.
At 10:35, the Tottenham/Crystal Palace match is doing the same thing in the Match Replays folder. No activity in the Extra Time folder and still no matches you can actually watch.
