Manual PX013ANM

New to X1 DVR. Looked on Comcast website for manual for PACE PX013ANM. Lots of manuals, none for PX013ANM

Re: Manual PX013ANM

Comcast has never posted owners manuals for X1 boxes. User guides, yes. Owners manuals, no.

Re: Manual PX013ANM

The link you send is useful. And limited. It tells me how to program the X1 DVR. Nothing about the DVR as do these manuals for the cable boxes on the Comcast website:

https://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/cable-tv/cable-box-user-manuals/

Is there a particular reason for not providing user manuals for the X! DVR's such as the PX013ANM?

That's pretty much all you can do with an X1 DVR....  there are no switches/ports/hubs that you can use.....

That has been asked many times. Comcast has never responded to it.

Do you really need a manual? It's not like navigating menus and hooking up a box is rocket science. You just need reading comprehension.

Give or take a little bit, this is most of what Comcast has provided in regards to "manuals"...

Re: Manual PX013ANM

We need something even if it's a sticky at the beginning of this forum. There is so much about the X1 that's not documented. Perfect example I spent about 45 min. reading about changing the pg up/down from 5 min. To 30/15 sec.  Finally googled it and found it in another 10 min. For those who don't know you push exit 3 times, than 0030 and it changes fast forward to 30 sec. instead of 45 min. which is worthless. Even 4 min would have been better than 5 since most network shows are about 4 min.

The link I just posted is a sticky at the top of this forum.

Unfortunately your example of the 30 second skip feature is not a good one. We are LUCKY to have that feature. Comcast makes money on commercials. The 30 second skip allows people to easily skip commercials which is not in Comcast's best interest. Comcast has no reason to "advertise" this feature.

It took you 10 minutes on Google to find this information? That's funny. If you Google "Comcast 30 second skip" or "X1 30 second skip" your answer pops up instantly on the very first page. It takes all of 10-15 seconds read and another minute or so to reprogram the remote.

Re: Manual PX013ANM

Jesus Christ!  We All want information on the X1 DVR. Not a bunch of reterick that doesn't go anywhere.  There are some of us who are not as brilliant as RickGr4.  Therefore, a simple answer would have been. Go to Google, Type in the browser "X1 30 second Skip".  Also, Directv remote has a 30second skip button right next to the fast forward button

The only problem I see when posting that link is that the PACE manual shows features that are DISABLED by Comcast.... HDMI-IN is disabled, eSATA is disabled, no USB devices can be hooked up....  the Ethernet port is disabled and if it isn't, connecting an Ethernet cable to your home network will introduce communication issues with the X1 network....  I personally only reference the how-to videos for anyone requesting a manual.

The Support Forums are "public" forums and you should not post identifiable information (name, account number, address, phone numbers & email addresses).  Users of these forums are Comcast customers, the same as you & me and volunteer their time to assist with the issues and/or problems that you may be experiencing.  Please ensure your post is in the correct Forum to begin with.  Please do not send me Private Messages for personal help but instead use the Forums to allow everyone to read and offer comments to assist you.  Comcast employees are identified with RED letters.

Yeah, I see your point, but it's not like this is for some generic model, as it is clearly shown as an Xfinity-branded X1 DVR.

However, I do believe that document was taken from the FCC approval filing Exhibits page, so it is an early version of the guide, and that's why it may show those many, currently disabled/unused interfaces/features.
