turn off news save screen

How do i turn off the thing that shows the news when the save screen comes on?  Shows the weather and other stuff but the news bothers a younger reader in the house.  I tried turning off everything in the settings but that didn't work

That's the screensaver, it can't be turned off but you can adjust how long it takes for it to turn on

Xfinity button to Gear Symbol to Device settings, scroll down to Screen Saver and press OK.

Choose between 5,15,30 minutes and 5 hours. You can also choose what the Screen Saver shows

This is ridiculous. Why does a tv need a screensaver in the first place??? The picture keeps moving so no issue of burning the screen.

still needed for those on a CRT type old TV and for those using some older plasma TVs(per their owners). The icons for many channels appear on the screen all the time and it may be that icon that they are worried about being 'burned' onto their display.
