none on the X1 remote codes don't work with the RCA rdt396 home theater system how can I get the remote to work with it?

Not every system has a compatible code. Most codes are for receivers and sound bars, not DVD player systems. Which ways have you tried?

I have tried all the supplied codes following the directions in the manual which are the same as the remote directions during box setup. Is there a way to have the remote learn codes from the RCA remote? Are there different ways to set the X1 remote up?

The X1 remotes cannot "learn" codes.  This is where you find all the codes the remotes support.
