customer owed equipment credit?

According to this, I should get a monthly credit because I own a tivo:

http://www.comcast.com/equipmentpolicy

However when I called comcast they said there is no credit they just don't bill me for the cable box.

Why do they contradict each other and who is correct?

Re: customer owed equipment credit?

Indeed the price of your first set top box is built into the cost of your Comcast TV service and you should get a bit of a credit if you do not have that box and instead use a TIVO..

To get help, you can drop a note to Comcast corporate customer service (we_can_help@cable.comcast.com).

Do what he said. I also have a cable card tuner device and it was like pulling teeth to get my customer owned equipment credit. I had to contact 3 or 4 different support people via chat and phone before somebody understood what I was talking about.
