Xfinity TV is only playing CBS videos, or videos with hulu logo. All others do not work.
I meet all system requirements, and did all suggestions in troubleshooting.
Windows 7 64bit, i7 processor, 16GB fast ram, Nvida gtrx 580, IE 11, all updated Flash and Java plugins + enabled. I have Xfinity TV with streampix, on demand, HBO and starz + the faster xfinity internet and xfinity phone, full package! It should work.
As soon as i start the video a ratings image shows up like it will play then "Internet Explorer has stopped working" - "Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." box pops up. After that the box changes to "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close and notify you if a solution is available." Then the page goes to a blank page with "We were unable to return you to comcast.net".
By the way there are no error messages other than what you see above. The shift + L to capture error info is not available because it drops me out of comcast.net to a blank page whith "We were unable to return you .... etc.
Please help and advise.

These sorts of problems are really difficult to solve over a forum like this because there are so many different things on your PC that could be cause problems. And yes, you will see many similar problems reported here, but that just reinforces the fact that the problems are most likely on your PC. If it was something on the Comcast web site, it would affect hundreds of thousands of people.
One thing you can try is erase your internet cache from IE and check all the various secutiry settings and policies.
I'd suggest downloading a different web brower and see if you have the same problem. Personally, I use the Chrome browser and have not had any problems watching things from the xfinity web site. Chrome has it's own internal version of Flash that might work better. Others have had success using Firefox. You might try both; it will not hurt you to have all three browsers installed (I do myself).
I started having this problem a couple of days ago also. I am running windows 8.1 and I traced it to an adobe flash upgrade that happened the same day. My daughter in a different state with a different computer is having the same issues. My android tablet works fine. Only plays CBS or Hulu shows. Called customer support and they escalated the issue. Surely I'm not the only one this is effecting?
No, you're not the only one. Look at all of the threads from the last few days, most of them are on this subject. It would appear that it's a problem with the latest update of flash (yet again). You'd think the folks at Comcast would be expecting this because of problems in the past, but I guess not.
