Xfinity App vs TV

How is it that my Xfinity App on my 5 year old iPad looks like everything is 4k, movies, shows, sports...but my $1500 4k TV through Comcast is still just HD?

Re: Xfinity App vs TV

From my understanding, the output of the application is usually a higher resolution than the live tv version of the channel since it is getting delivered via IP (Internet). The live tv station would most likely have a lower resolution due to bandwidth constraints of a cable network.

Re: Xfinity App vs TV

yeah I noticed the Stream tv on my android phone has a prettier picture than my 4k tv.

but my phone's screen is so small I can't really appreciate it.

Re: Xfinity App vs TV

I'm watching PTI on ESPN right now (on my 5 year old iPad) and the picture is spectacular...4K like.

Wish my $1500 TV looked this good.
