Search by Genre, Actors, Release Year, etc.

Why don't you support searches by genre?  Or find movies with a particular actor?  I'd also like to search for movies released in a certain year (i.e. 2014).

If there is a way to do this, it's not obvious to me.

Re: Search by Genre, Actors, Release Year, etc.

I believe you need to do your search through GOOGLE :

https://www.google.com/search?q=movies+released+in+2014&rlz=1C1KAFB_enUS539US547&oq=movies+released+...

or even YAHOO :

https://ca.search.yahoo.com/search?p=movies+released+in+2014&fr=yfp-t-203

not the search function here in the forums.

Re: Search by Genre, Actors, Release Year, etc.

Search by Actor's name works fine on the X1 box with voice remote.

PROBLEM: It doesn't work at all on the Android app NOR on the Web version (TV.xfinity.com)

For example, "NBC" yields results but "Redford" NONE (on the app) . Now try it on the X1 -- many movies with Robert Redford are available.

PLEASE FIX THIS!  It's rather pathetic, and annoying.

Re: Search by Genre, Actors, Release Year, etc.

Evidently this new website format was designed by somebody's brother-in-law. Otherwise why would the "NEW" interface be slower, have fewer features, and have many more glitches. It's like "Upgrading" your car by replacing the engine with a smaller engine which is also less fuel efficient, replacing the automatic windows with window that can't even open, and replacing your keyless start with a crank. And then claiming that this is the "NEW, IMPROVD CAR", which will "CHANGE THE WAY YOU VIEW DRIVING", and "CREATE A BETTER EXPERIENCE" etc.

Oh, and the mechanics for this car are never at work, and rarely answer the phone. When they do answer the phone, they tell you to "Change the Oil" as a fix for everything from a flat to a broken alternator...

It's more like replacing the engine with a squirrel that is half dead.  This new streaming setup which is horrific, is status quo for comcast.  Either management is brain dead or the developers are (or both).  Why are we forced to have this third world experience at first world prices.  Why are these people still in business?
