Screen flickering after quick power outage

Wondering if problem with X1 box.  TV works fine using computer display, VCR, DVD, Playstation, etc, with no flickering.  Only flickers when X1 box is the input.

Did the box malfunction due to the power surge.  Surge protector has been reset, panel switch reset, cable box plugged directly into wall and whatever other possible troubleshooting I could think of has been tried.

Can a damaged box cause the flickering?

If you have an antenna, test the TV to be sure it isn't the issue.

Did you unplug the cable-box for a couple minutes? Plug it back in to allow  a full reset. I would do the same for the router / modem. if the same thing happens, get the box exchanged. I would rule out the television since it worked on the other devices. If you have an antenna hooked up for local channels, testing that way is a good idea.

Everything was reset since all was unplugged, plugged, and breaker reset.  Only flickers when watching X1.  Tech is coming out.

Tech arrived, checked signal.  It was the box.  Thank you, Lionel.

It's unfortunate thought that the company doesn ot give the techs better equipment to work with.  The boxes that are turned in from customers should be cleaned and prepped, etc, if they are still going to be in use by the company.  Other than that, great service.

Been there. Done that.

Both a friend of mine, and I went through a similar problem in the last two years. I went to exchange a bad box at the nearest service center and was given a faulty one. I had to make a second trip for a good one. My friend actually got two faulty boxes before getting a good one at the same service center. I can assure you that they do not check refurbished boxes sent back to service centers.

Having run a division and been in Quality Control in both medical and cosmetics before retiring, their lack of control appalls me.
