every time i try to use on demand the channel freezes up

Same problem - err-7 was showing up which means weakened signal, suggests to reboot box and if that dont work then may be signal out side thats weak. turned the box off wont go back on - it powers on gets to "boot" for a few seconds then shuts off. Called comcast, said that there is an outage. Dont understand what that would have with the box not even turning on but thats what she said.
