No signal for 3-5 minutes

Read some of comments from other consumers, but could not find an actual solution.  After skny Bravia is off for period of time and turned on again, it takes 3-5 minutes for TV to come on.  Very frustrating. I was told by a Best Buy tech that I could connect HDMI directly to X1 box and then take fiber optic for autio.  However could not use surround sound.  Any ideas?

are you seeing anything on the screen for the 3-5 minutes? I your Comcast labs setting for the X1 set top box set to 'off'? the optical cable is usually unnecessary if you check out your TV's capability. (the ARC allows the audio signal to come back to the receiver via the same cable).
