Labeling old shows as new

I am seeing this tread of labeling an old show as new in the channel description. Example- the March  11 showing 8o PM on Smithsonian labels the show as new .I have seen this show before. It is not new. This practice has got to stop..

The Science Channel show on Pompeii  on March 11 2018[10:00 PM was labeled as a new show. Not so. It was produced in 2016.

But, did it air on Science or another network? Often, "NEW" means it is new to that network, not necessarily produced recently. It may have been sitting on the shelf for awhile. Travel Channel says "Destination Truth" is new, when in reality it is from the SciFi (now SyFy) channel and aired 2007-2012.

Basically, Comcast gets their data from Gracenote, and Gracenote gets their data from the networks. It's up to the networks to supply the correct info.
