Incorrect error message caused useless problems

Trying to watch local TV channels on my laptop. All was fine then suddenly I keep getting the following error:

 


A subscription is required to watch this channel. Please call 1-800-XFINITY to add it to your service. (Error 900.primetime.3329.12012)

 

 

So I phoned support and they told me that Xfin was having problems in my area and this was why I was unable to watch the channel. Duh.

 

Why not CHANGE the error message so that it accurately reflects the real problem? Could save me a lot of hassle as I spend hours on support trying to resolve the problem. All that they needed to do was display the REAL reason for the outage. Arrgh!

I'm having the same problem.  I reached to Comcast and they made sure that my account and e-mail address match.  I'm not able to watch ESPN online and I have it on TV.
