How do I watch SD instead of HD?

Autotuning keeps changing the station to HD when I try to watch the SD station. I cannot find anywhere in the settings & preferences in the menu to change this action.

Re: How do I watch SD instead of HD?

Here is how I get to preferences on my X1 Box and change the Auto-Tune feature

Using the remote press the xfinity button

Highlight Settings (the gear icon) and press OK

Highlight Preferences and press OK.

Highlight General and press OK.

Press the down arrow on the remote and highlight Prefer Best Available Resolution. Then press OK to toggle the feature on or off.

I believe this is what you are refering to? Let me know if this helps! -TheMasterTech

@db94117- Alternatively you can force a prefered resolution(video quality) by:

Hitting Xfinity Button on your remote>Goto Device Settings, hit OK>Down arrow to Video Display and hit OK>From there you can change the Video output from the box to your TV(I would put this at what your tv can handle(ex. max tv resolution is 720p>put setting at 720) hope this helps! -TheMasterTech

Yes, that's good info, MasterTech, thanks.

Some times we don't need the higher res, and its pixelated stops and starts. Fine to watch a nice steady flow.
