Connectivity Problems

I have been struggling for days with various combinations and would like some advice.

Here are some of the issues

  1. Comcast Box -> Samsung TV (Composite Cable) - Works (but of course image quality is SD)
  2. Comcast Box -> Samsung TV (HDMI) - sometimes works, mostly doesn't work
  3. XBox One -> Samsung TV (HDMI) - works great
  4. Comcast Box -> Xbox One (HDMI) - Doesn't work ; this is what I am trying to do to solve #2
  5. Laptop -> Xbox One (HDMI) - Works!
  6. Comcast Box -> LG TV (HDMI) - Works!

With all these combinations it is nearly impossible to tell if the issues are with the TV, Xbox or Comcast Box, or even with the cables (I have tried multiple ones).

Any idea what could be the source of my frustration?  I really don't want to use the LG TV as it is much smaller.

thanks

Re: Connectivity Problems

It may not be behind your hdmi issues but your dvr ( and modem) are out of spec. Have you swapped out the box in case of hdmi port issues?

Re: Connectivity Problems

Thanks, I will try and get the box swapped out.  Have you seen HDMI issues where it works on one device (LG) but not another (Samsung)?
