I have x1 anyroom dvr service. Supposedly cloud service is coming here as early as tomorrow. All i would have to do is get cloud service activated correct? Does this increase the storage capacity? or just make dvr recordings availble on all devices?
In scranton, PA market.
All cable boxes already share the recordings.
Cloud DVR simply makes those recordings available on mobile devices (tablets, smartphones, etc), and grant the ability to watch the full channel lineup on those devices as well.
Recording capacity remains the same - 500GB
I'm very excited myself, I'm in Pittsburgh PA myself and will be getting it this week as well (woot!)
It's just too bad that only recordings that got recorded after you "sign up" for cloud DVR service will be available on the cloud.

And theres no way to increase storage capcity on the x1 correct?
if you are in an area that allows more than one DVR in the home then yes, else, no, not with comcast equipment. you can add a 6 tuner or 4 tuner TiVO to replace one or more of the extra x1 equipment. I was ready to do that (keeping one x1 included in my plan bundle) when congress changed the rules. so I'm on hold still using 3 X1 DVRs.
I might add a second dvr eventually. I fill up pretty fast on my dvr. im at 95%. cloud will at least give me a chance to finish shows on the go.
