Cablecard DRM channels

I see that an issue with viewing channels marked as DRM is solved by "sending a signal" to the cablecard. Can someone explain what action was performed on the cablecard in technical terms so that I can explain that to another cable company's support personnel?

Re: Cablecard DRM channels

Hi Jay, thank you for reaching out, the signal I send is a repairing signal along with refreshing entitlements to the cable card.

A lot of the time the DRM is caused by the software being used to view channels as some don't let you watch copy protected channels.

Thank you
